With the recent announcement of Hamilton County reaching a purple, Level 4 emergency county, the Reds Community Fund has decided to begin a slower return to Academy programs by first focusing on RBI team practices beginning Saturday, Jan. 23, to limit the potential spread of COVID-19. For those on RBI teams, please contact your coach for any specifics on your practice times. Additionally, our Academy staff and advisors have made the difficult decision to postpone Fun At Bat programming as we continue to monitor county data. We will communicate once we have been cleared to resume Fun At Bat operations. Our commitment to health and safety remains strong, with our coaches and instructors being tested weekly. If you have any questions or concerns about our COVID-19 protocols, please don’t hesitate to contact our staff at redsyouthacademy@reds.com.

With the COVID-19 pandemic forcing the cancelation of all high school spring sports, local seniors were forced to deal with the abrupt reality that their prep careers were over. A group of these student-athletes were members of the Cincinnati Reds RBI program, many of whom were also regulars at the P&G Cincinnati MLB Youth Academy over the years. With our Senior Spotlight series, the Reds want to recognize these players for their efforts and wish them well in their future endeavors, both on and off the field.
The Reds Community Fund and USA Baseball have created a special Fun At Bat program for kids to learn or enhance their bat and ball skills at home. Fun At Bat is an introductory program for kids ages 5-10 (K – 5th grade) with an emphasis on character development, functional movement, literacy, active play and fun. The overarching goal of the program is to promote fun and active lifestyles for children while teaching them the fundamentals of baseball and softball. Participants will have access to video sessions with each one focusing on a different aspect of the game.
