On Monday, January 18, the Reds join with all Americans to honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebrating the civil rights leader’s life and legacy. MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. We hope many of you throughout Reds Country will take this opportunity to make an impact just as Dr. King did throughout his life.
In Cincinnati, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center will host its annual King Legacy Celebration virtually on Monday beginning at 9 a.m. WLWT anchor and reporter Courtis Fuller will emcee the event, which will include live musical performances and presenting the King Legacy Youth honorees.
Also taking place will be the 2021 MLK Commemorative March and Motorcade, an event that takes place each year to remember Dr. King and all those who walked and sacrificed with him in the movement for civil rights. The march will leave from the Freedom Center beginning at 10:30 a.m.
