Major League Baseball and the Reds will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month the weekend of September 18-20 with efforts to spotlight the contributions to baseball by Hispanic and Latino players. Photo cutouts of the eight Hispanic players who have been inducted in the Reds Hall of Fame will be featured behind home plate throughout the weekend. The Reds will also plan to wear their alternate “Los Rojos” uniforms for the Sunday, September 20 game against the White Sox.

On Friday, August 28, the Reds will join with all of Major League Baseball to celebrate Jackie Robinson’s historic debut that broke baseball’s color barrier. Jackie Robinson Day gives all of baseball a chance to honor Jackie’s life, legacy and powerful contributions to society. All uniformed personnel will wear Jackie’s No. 42 and a commemorative patch on their jersey, along with a special 42 patch on caps and socks plus commemorative base jewels and lineup cards.
You can join the celebration by sharing your thoughts, images and videos on social media with #Jackie42. Kids can learn more about Jackie and his life through a series of at-home activities below.
Each year on April 15, the Reds join all of Major League Baseball to celebrate the anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking baseball's color barrier on that date in 1947. The Reds Community Fund and USA Baseball have created a special Fun At Bat program for you to learn or enhance your bat and ball skills at home. Fun At Bat is an introductory program for kids ages 5-10 (K – 5th grade) with an emphasis on character development, functional movement, literacy, active play, and fun. The overarching goal of the program is to promote fun and active lifestyles for children while teaching them the fundamentals of baseball and softball.
