Last week, the State of California announced that beginning on June 15, large sporting venues such as Oracle Park will be permitted to operate at full capacity without social distancing. The Giants are excited to welcome fans back to a more traditional ballpark environment beginning on Friday, June 25 with our home series against cross-Bay rivals, the Oakland Athletics.
Starting with the June 25th homestand and for the remainder of the season, Season Ticket Members will return to their original seat locations and single game tickets will be available for individuals, groups and special events. There will not be any entry requirements for ticketholders. Gameday protocols are subject to the discretion of the San Francisco Department of Public Health.
The public on-sale for full capacity regular season games (June 25-October3) will begin today Thursday, May 27 at 2 p.m. PDT. Fans can visit sfgiants.com/tickets for all ticket options.
“California’s reopening on June 15 is an important milestone in our state’s recovery from the challenging and, for many, life changing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Giants President and CEO Larry Baer. “We have been working closely with the San Francisco Department of Health to safely implement these reopening guidelines at Oracle Park and we are excited to welcome even more fans back to Oracle Park next month.”

City Approves up to 22% Fan Capacity beginning on April 9.
San Francisco Public Health order requires COVID-19 testing or full vaccinations, socially distanced seating pods in designated zones and face coverings.
After a long year, the Giants will welcome fans back to Oracle Park on Opening Day, April 9. Under the public health order issued by the San Francisco Health Officer, the Giants can operate the ballpark at up to 22% capacity with special testing/vaccination requirements for entry to Oracle Park.
“We are very excited and are looking forward to welcoming fans back home to Oracle Park,” said Giants President and CEO Larry Baer. “We want to thank our fans for their ongoing patience, cooperation and support as we navigate the challenges of the pandemic.”
Under the directive issued by the San Francisco Health Officer, Oracle Park will re-open to fans subject to the following conditions:
Each fan in attendance, 12 years and older, will be required to take a COVID-19 test with negative results or provide proof of a full COVID-19 vaccination, in order to gain entry. (Children under 12 are not required to provide negative test results or vaccination proof.) If testing, the Giants strongly encourage fans to take a PCR-type test rather than a rapid antigen test.
Test results need to be received within 72 hours of the first game that they plan to attend of a homestand. Fans can present their negative Covid tests two ways:
Fans 18 or older may utilize the CLEAR's Health Pass to securely link and confirm negative COVID-19 test results for a seamless entry to the game. Health Pass is a free service on the CLEAR mobile app, which connects a person's verified identity to COVID-19 related information to help reduce public health risk. The Giants strongly encourage fans to take advantage of CLEAR’s Health Pass before arriving at Oracle Park in order to help ensure a smooth entry.
Fans can bring an electronic or paper copy of their negative COVID-19 test results at the entrance gates.
Fully vaccinated fans should bring a paper or electronic copy of their completed vaccination card to the game. (Full vaccination is defined as completion of the two dose regimen of Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or one dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine administered two weeks or more in advance of the game to be attended.)
Dignity Health, the Giants long-time healthcare provider, has teamed up with the Giants to provide trusted, convenient access to COVID-19 molecular rapid (PCR) testing at GoHealth Urgent Care Centers in Northern California. Giants fans will have exclusive access to schedule a brief Virtual Visit where they will receive a confirmed testing appointment at a convenient location and time to ensure results are available for game day. Test results will be posted on a confidential Patient Portal in advance of the event for easy access and presentation at the ballpark.
Other Health & Safety Requirements include:
- Fans must not attend games if they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, even if they have recently been tested or are fully vaccinated.
- Fans will be seated in socially distanced pods in nine designated zones throughout the ballpark.
- Designated zones assign Fans to specific entry and exit gates, concessions and restrooms located closest to their seating pods.
- Fans must not gather before or after games. Large gatherings at or near Oracle Park remain prohibited.
- All food and beverage will be ordered via mobile app only. Guests will be able to select pick-up at designated concession stands within their seating zone.
- Face masks and social distancing will be strictly enforced.
Given the requirements for entry, fans should plan ahead, arrive early and come prepared with required documentation.
“The San Francisco Department of Public Health would like to thank Giants fans for taking the additional step to get vaccinated or tested before the game. Your cooperation helps keep not only everyone attending and working at the game safe, but also protects our entire community,” said San Francisco’s Acting Health Officer Dr. Susan Philip. “COVID-19 is still here, including new variants that spread more quickly, and unvaccinated individuals are still at serious risk, so we need to keep up the good work and follow the health guidelines so we can safely enjoy a full season of baseball. Thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe. Remember, masks up, stay strong and go Giants!”
The health and safety requirements will remain in place at least through the first homestand. We expect restrictions to evolve and attendance capacity to expand this season if health conditions improve and as more people receive their COVID-19 vaccinations.
The Giants will sell game tickets on a monthly basis until more details become clear. Season ticket members have first priority to secure tickets to April games. Any remaining tickets to April games will go on sale to Visa cardholders on April 2 and to the public on April 5.
“Health and safety remains our top priority and we have been working over the past several months to develop plans to ensure a safe experience for our fans, employees and the community as a whole,” continued Baer.

The Giants are very encouraged by Governor Newsom’s announcement today updating state guidelines that would permit fans to attend baseball games at Oracle Park, subject to final approval by local health officials. The updated state guidelines for ballparks and other outdoor venues allow for a limited number of fans seated in socially-distanced pods in counties operating in the red tier or better. Given that San Francisco is currently operating in the red tier and conditions are steadily improving, we are hopeful that we can welcome a limited number of fans back to Oracle Park beginning with our home opener on April 9.
Health and safety is our number one priority and we have been working over the past several months to develop plans and protocols to ensure a safe experience for our fans, employees and the community as a whole. In the coming days, the Giants will submit our operational plans for review and approval by the local health officials and we eagerly look forward to safely welcoming fans back to Oracle Park.

The San Francisco Giants today announced that Oracle Park has achieved Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation, the gold standard for prepared facilities. Under the guidance of GBAC, a Division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, the San Francisco Giants have implemented the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention in its facility.
As the cleaning industry’s only outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation, GBAC STAR™ helps organizations establish protocols and procedures, offers expert-led training and assesses a facility’s readiness for biorisk situations. The program verifies that Oracle Park implements best practices to prepare for, respond to and recover from outbreaks and pandemics.
“GBAC STAR accreditation empowers facility owners and managers to assure workers, customers and key stakeholders that they have proven systems in place to maintain clean and healthy environments,” said GBAC Executive Director Patricia Olinger. “By taking this important step to pursue GBAC STAR, the San Francisco Giants and Oracle Park have received third-party validation that it follows strict protocols for biorisk situations, thereby demonstrating its preparedness and commitment to operating safely.”
